HR - Employment Contract
The Employment Contract is an individual agreement between the employee and the employer, with legal obligations for both sides. Typically it takes the form of a letter of engagement, summarising the new employee's pay, terms and conditions, which they sign before they start work. In Australia under the Fair Work Act 2009 employment contracts, as a minimum, must meet or exceed each condition in the applicable award or agreement covering the employee. Note: The National Employment Standards (NES) override any less favourable terms in a common law employment contract. This Employment Contract contains the same information as the Offer Letter within the Recruitment and Selection Guide.
